History, Mission & Activities of the Chinese Folk Dance Association (CFDA) The CFDA is a non-profit dance company established by Asian Americans in 1959 for the promotion of Chinese culture to other Californians through performances and classes in Chinese traditional and classical dancing. We are the only Chinese traditional dance group based in San Francisco that can offer quality performances, whether it is one dance or full length performances. The CFDA has performed, in its 43 year history, in large scale productions, in smaller community shows, and by invitation to many other cultural events in the San Francisco Bay Area, normally averaging 40 performances annually. |
